Things that should be included in a good
school magazine
·
Pictures of
the schools students (boy and girl to show equality)
·
Articles
about interesting things that have happened within the school recently – trips,
results
·
Catchy
headings that make the articles appear more interesting
·
Interviews
with staff and students of the school (e.g. with new teachers, new year 7s
etc.)
·
Calendar of
events/ important information
·
An
eye-catching masthead (colours, logo)
·
It should
look reasonably formal
·
Include only
positive articles about the school
·
Colourful
design – so it looks appealing
·
An
interesting and suitable name
·
Book/ film
reviews – would appeal to target audience, popular and current films as that is
what the target audience would mostly like
How?
If all of the above were to be included, the
magazine would appeal to the target audience of the school’s students and their
parents. By having catchy headings and bright colours, the magazine will come
across as more interesting and appealing.
Also, if the magazine still manages to look quite formal, parents will
take it more seriously and understand that it will be informative. By including
unique things like book and film reviews, the students will have something that
specifically appeals to them.
